The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has chosen Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, Revolut, and VVTX to participate in its stablecoin regulatory sandbox program. The trials, set to begin in early 2026, will test issuance models under real-world conditions while assessing reserves, governance, and settlement mechanisms.

Selected from 20 applicants, these firms represent diverse stablecoin use cases—payments, trading, and infrastructure. The FCA aims to use the results to shape final policy decisions by late 2026, with Revolut’s inclusion signaling broader fintech participation.

This initiative marks the UK’s most structured effort to evaluate stablecoins since proposing oversight rules earlier this year. The Sandbox will run parallel to global regulatory developments, including the EU’s MiCA framework and US Treasury guidance.
